Boxing’s landscape could be witnessing a monumental shift this June, as Gervonta Davis and David Benavidez are rumored to share a spotlight in a Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) doubleheader, exclusively on Amazon Prime PPV. With the strategic placement of these two powerhouse names on one card, PBC aims to lock in a knockout success.

In what is shaping up to be an electrifying night of boxing, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) is slated to defend his WBA ‘regular’ lightweight title against the undefeated Frank Martin (18-0, 12 KOs). Adding to the thrill, David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs) prepares to battle for the WBC interim light heavyweight title against Oleksandr Gvozyk (20-1, 16 KOs). This revelation, hinted at by boxing insider Ray Jackson on social media, has yet to be officially confirmed, leaving fans and analysts eagerly waiting for an official announcement.

Tyson Fury foresees a knockout whenever he fights Oleksandr Usyk. He envisions the Ukrainian champion lying on the canvas, seven rounds into the fight. Can it turn into a reality? The British champion surely thinks so

The Gyspsy King’ will battle it out against Usyk with all the heavyweight straps on the line. While their electrifying showdown is derailed for May in Saudi Arabia, the anticipation of the bout is reaching a zenith. Amid the speculations and doubts about Fury’s fading boxing prowess, the latter is confident of pulling another win, and that too, splendidly. What prompted him to make such a claim?

Fury, 35, sat down with Charlie Parsons and had a candid response when asked about his prediction for the upcoming fight. Not only did Usyk have a little experience at heavyweight, but he also hadn’t impressed Fury with his outings to the square circle. Fury said, “He’s only had two or three fights at heavyweight. And to be honest, I haven’t been that impressed with him.”

He [Oleksandr Usyk] does what he’s got to do; he has got his wins, been paid. He gets the job done, and he goes home. So that’s what it is about,” Fury continued.

Venus Williams, Caroline Wozniacki and Emma Raducanu have been awarded wildcard picks for the upcoming Miami Open next month. Whilst this guarantees further interest in an already huge tournament, some fans aren’t happy with the organiser’s decision.

“Interesting turn from giving it away to promising juniors over the years, now distributed to 3 pensioners,” one user said on X. “All will go to waste. Maybe Woz [Caroline Wozniacki] can sneak a win or two but seriously give it to some young girls,” stated another.

43-year-old Williams has not played competitively since the US Open, where she suffered a first round defeat to qualifier Greet Minnen. Wozniacki made a return to tennis in August having retired in 2020, while Raducanu has failed to recapture the form that saw her win the US Open on debut. The Brit was the only one of the three to play in last year’s event, losing her first match to Canadian Bianca Andreescu 6-3 3-6 6-2.

Kownacki, who just five years ago boasted a perfect 20-0 record and was touted as a potential opponent for the likes of Anthony Joshua, endured what could be his final professional career outing.

The Polish heavyweight lasted just 45 seconds in the first round as Meyna connected with a number of big shots before the referee stepped in to stop the bout.

This is the fifth straight defeat for Kownacki, with the 34-year-old previously losing to Joe Cusumano, Ali Eren Demirezen and twice to Robert Helenius.

Just a few years ago, the Pole was seen by many as a serious contender as he picked up victories over former world title holders Charles Martin and Chris Arreola.

Any hopes of a championship opportunity were dashed by his continuing losing run.

More concerning than the defeats themselves is the manner in which Kownacki has suffered them.

After some whopping investments in golf, Saudi Arabia’s PIF has shifted its focus to the racket game. While calling it a “multi-year strategic partnership,” the ATP Tour has now announced a deal with the global and domestic investor. Many in the tennis community have voiced their opinions, including American tennis veteran Jimmy Connors, who recently issued some candid statements.

Emphasizing Saudi’s multi-million-dollar deal with the governing body of the men’s tour, the Hall of Famer talked about how the Middle Eastern nation is coming in as ‘a second-placed player.’ Meanwhile, Connors also opened up about how Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal would have had a major impact on Saudi Arabia’s ‘$100 million deal’ as it would have been ‘a different story

Cher and Serena Williams were among the dozens of guests sipping cocktails at the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris Friday night to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Byredo’s Mojave Ghost fragrance.

Ben Gorham, who founded Byredo and serves as its creative director, hosted the event with Amelia Gray Hamlin. Also in attendance were Hamlin’s mother. Lisa Rinna, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, among others.

Gorham dreamed up Mojave Ghost after he drove through the Mojave Desert and was struck by its landscape and the ghost flowers growing there despite all odds.

Francis Ngannou has been given a long list of instructions as he prepares to take on Anthony Joshua next week.

Ngannou, who dropped Tyson Fury on his professional boxing debut last October before falling to a narrow split-decision after 10 rounds, goes into Friday’s clash as a significant underdog. Joshua has won his last three fights and knows victory could propel him into another world title fight.

One of those victories last year came against Jermain Franklin and the heavyweight has offered Ngannou some advice ahead of his second boxing bout. “Francis needs to do these five things,” he told Action Network. “1. He needs to come out fast and bully AJ, Joshua does not like to be bullied. 2. He must use his jab to set up his power, he cannot look for one shot to take him out. 3. Francis needs to stay patient and wait for the opening like he did with Fury. 4. He will need to take AJ’s power, and if he can do that, he has a major chance to win. 5. He must focus on working the body and using angles to counter AJ’s power.
