The former two-time heavyweight champion earned $75m from fights in 2024 alone, placing him second only to Canelo Alvarez in yearly earnings. The Mexican champion matched Joshua’s fight purse but edged him in off-field earnings by $2m.

Anthony Joshua's Career Earnings Hit $200Million

Fury, 36, collected $50m in 2024, taking his career earnings to $150m, significantly behind Joshua’s impressive haul.

Meanwhile, Davis, 30, has accumulated $50m since his professional debut, with his recent bouts against Ryan Garcia and Frank Martin contributing nearly $20m to his wealth. Garcia himself has emerged as a pay-per-view star, amassing over $40m in career earnings

Anthony Joshua has confirmed he will return to the ring in September following his KO win against Francis Ngannou.

Former two-time heavyweight world champion Joshua extended his unbeaten streak to four fights last month when he dropped Ngannou twice before stopping him for good in the second round. ‘AJ’ has been promised a shot at the undisputed world titles in his next fight, which Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are competing for next month.

When asked about his next fight on The Jonathan Ross Show, ‘AJ’ said: “Around September is when I’ve been told. I was hoping June. I’ve got some time to go on dates now and mingle a little bit. I’m training at the minute, I’ve got two months before I get into training camp.”

Queensbury Promotions are hosting a Wembley Stadium event later this year, according to Derek Chisora, and he recently claimed Joshua will be headlining the card. “He will fight the winner of Daniel Dubois and [Filip] Hrgovic in Wembley.

Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua returned to training on Monday two after brutally knocking out Francis Ngannou in the main event of their ‘Knockout Chaos’ clash on Friday, March 8.

Joshua dropped the former UFC heavyweight champion three times in two rounds with the final right hand closing the show in dramatic fashion with Ngannou needing oxygen and a doctor before he got back up.

Now Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to meet in a bout on May 18 that will unify all four belts for the first time in heavyweight history.

However, the pair are contracted to an immediate rematch, likely ruling them out for the whole year and Joshua has expressed that he will not sit and wait with his eyes already set on a summer return.

A scrappy start to the second round sees Vargas take a knee but he is bundled over — rather than knocked over — by Ball. Vargas gets back to his feet and the pair come together in a tangle of limbs once again, but this time Ball lands a good — and legal — uppercut on the break.

Ball is making this very difficult for Vargas. He’s getting rough on the inside and is also ducking down when he defends himself, making Vargas stretch all the way down to land his shots. It’s a slightly bizarre spectacle but it’s an intriguing one.

The height difference between these two is honestly comical. Nick Ball stands 5′ 2″ tall. Rey Vargas, on the other hand, is 5′ 7½″ and boxes bolt upright. It’s some difference.

It’s a relatively cagy opening round which briefly bursts into life in the final minute. Vargas lands two left hooks to the body from range, and Ball replies by storming forward, looking to close the distance and get to work. But Vargas keeps himself out of danger.

Ball lands with a good jab before the bell.

Anthony Joshua faces Francis Ngannou knowing a statement victory could open up one of the most exciting periods in his career as he targets becoming a three-time world heavyweight champion; watch Joshua face Ngannou live on Sky Sports Box Office on Friday March 8.

Whether relaunch or retaliation, his renewed pursuit of boxing’s pinnacle resumes in less orthodox circumstances on Friday when he pits his knockout exploits against that of former UFC star Francis Ngannou. A stoppage victory beckons as the latest statement on his targeted route back to heavyweight glory, while threatening a sharp jab to the Tyson Fury tale in light of the Gypsy King’s uncomfortable encounter with Ngannou late last year.

Anthony Joshua Declares His Readiness To Take On Francis Ngannou

Ngannou wanted the biggest and the best were he to sacrifice UFC supremacy for his childhood dreams of stepping inside the ring. So he came to Fury and now he comes to Joshua, the latter of whom’s influence as a beacon of his era has helped sell yet more historic crossover combat in Saudi Arabia’s heavyweight playground.

The career of Ngannou has unfolded minus the burden of expectation such is his underdog background, while in contrast there may be no British fighter of the last decade that has shouldered as much pressure to succeed as Joshua during his gold-medal-springboarded rise to fame.

The event will start at 4pm, Friday March 8 on Sky Sports Box Office (Sky channel 491) and Sky Sports Box Office HD (Sky channel 492).

The event is priced at £19.95 for Sky customers in the UK, €24.95 for Sky customers in the Republic of Ireland up until midnight on Thursday March 7.

Thereafter £19.95/€24.95 across all “self-service” bookings (remote control/online) or £24.95 / €29.95 if booked via the phone (either IVR or agent) but note an additional £2 booking fee if via an agent will apply.

Kownacki, who just five years ago boasted a perfect 20-0 record and was touted as a potential opponent for the likes of Anthony Joshua, endured what could be his final professional career outing.

The Polish heavyweight lasted just 45 seconds in the first round as Meyna connected with a number of big shots before the referee stepped in to stop the bout.

This is the fifth straight defeat for Kownacki, with the 34-year-old previously losing to Joe Cusumano, Ali Eren Demirezen and twice to Robert Helenius.

Just a few years ago, the Pole was seen by many as a serious contender as he picked up victories over former world title holders Charles Martin and Chris Arreola.

Any hopes of a championship opportunity were dashed by his continuing losing run.

More concerning than the defeats themselves is the manner in which Kownacki has suffered them.

Francis Ngannou has been given a long list of instructions as he prepares to take on Anthony Joshua next week.

Ngannou, who dropped Tyson Fury on his professional boxing debut last October before falling to a narrow split-decision after 10 rounds, goes into Friday’s clash as a significant underdog. Joshua has won his last three fights and knows victory could propel him into another world title fight.

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua called out by Francis Ngannou after UFC exit as heavyweight star eyes boxing switch | The Sun

One of those victories last year came against Jermain Franklin and the heavyweight has offered Ngannou some advice ahead of his second boxing bout. “Francis needs to do these five things,” he told Action Network. “1. He needs to come out fast and bully AJ, Joshua does not like to be bullied. 2. He must use his jab to set up his power, he cannot look for one shot to take him out. 3. Francis needs to stay patient and wait for the opening like he did with Fury. 4. He will need to take AJ’s power, and if he can do that, he has a major chance to win. 5. He must focus on working the body and using angles to counter AJ’s power.

Prior to Anthony Joshua‘s fight with Otto Wallin in December, it was not exactly clear which direction the Brit’s career was heading.

In his previous four fights, Joshua had worked with three different trainers, and not looked entirely convincing with any of them in his corner.

Joshua’s long-term coach Rob McCracken was dumped after his first loss to Oleksandr Usyk, and Robert Garcia couldn’t change the result in the rematch. In came another American, Derrick James, but Joshua still only laboured to wins over fringe contenders Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius.

Ben Davison is the man behind Anthony Joshua's resurgence after masterminding Tyson Fury's comeback... he could be AJ's secret weapon to topple the Gypsy King if he can dispatch Francis Ngannou first |

When the two-time heavyweight champion announced he would be trying another trainer to take on Wallin, it appeared he was lacking clarity on how he wanted to go about his business.

But Joshua proved the doubters wrong. With the highly-rated Ben Davison in his corner, AJ looked back to his brutal best as he broke down his opponent and forced the Swede’s corner to throw in the towel after five rounds.

Joshua however points out that even though bouts with those opponents never came to fruition, for his part he has previously agreed to fight both men.

Talks for a fight with Tyson Fury have stalled and collapsed in the past, while Joshua had inked a deal to fight Wilder this year, only for the American to suffer a surprise upset loss to Joseph Parker and nix the arrangement.
