In the modern sports landscape, branding is as critical as skill, and the rise of NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals is transforming the way young athletes approach their careers. No longer limited by age, prodigies across various sports are signing lucrative sponsorship agreements, securing financial benefits alongside their athletic pursuits. Among the most talked-about prospects is 15-year-old Charlie Woods, the son of golfing legend Tiger Woods, who is already making headlines for his potential in golf. The buzz surrounding him has raised the question: has Charlie Woods signed an NIL deal?

Florida High School, where Charlie plays golf and is a student-athlete, has cleared the way for NIL opportunities. Following a recent decision by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), high school athletes can now legally profit from their name, image, and likeness. This groundbreaking move allows young talents to work with agents and sponsors, opening up significant financial avenues. For Florida High’s standout players, including Woods, this could mean early access to deals that set them up for future success in their chosen sports.

Fabio Fognini, 37, who has shared a generation with the Big Three of world tennis, commented on the impact these three legends have had on the sport, especially now that only Novak Djokovic remains active.

“We are talking about three myths. From a sporting perspective and as a tennis fan, I am a fan of Federer. Without disrespecting the other two, I believe if we ask 95% of people, they would say they prefer Roger Federer. It was a delight to watch him play. Djokovic, on the other hand, when he’s on form, steals time and doesn’t allow the other player to play. And Rafa, what can I say about him… he annihilates rivals both physically and psychologically. When I faced him, except in Monte Carlo, which I ended up winning, I couldn’t stand up; it was always like that. When we greeted each other at the net, I was ‘dead’, and the next day I was very exhausted. It was tremendous,” reminisced the Italian.

This marks a significant change for the gymnast, who traditionally spent the holiday with her family. While the adjustment may be bittersweet, it underscores the couple’s commitment to nurturing their relationship amidst demanding schedules.

Christmas has always held a special place in Simone’s heart, thanks to her father, Ronald Biles. He went above and beyond to make her holiday wishes come true, though he often did so on his own practical terms. One year, young Simone persistently asked for a dog. Ronald initially tried to sidestep the request by gifting giant stuffed animals. But Simone’s determination eventually paid off.

Oleksandr Usyk makes surprise Anthony Joshua claim as feelings clear before Tyson Fury fight

Born in Slovakia to a Nigerian father before moving to England, Itauma has been labelled ‘Britain’s Mike Tyson’ by the British press, thanks to his all-action approach to fighting. The 19-year-old is seen in the boxing community as a potential future world champion – and even Fury has conceded that he won’t want to face him in a serious contest.

Anthony Joshua has surpassed the $200m mark in career earnings, making him one of boxing’s highest earners, surpassing heavyweight rival Tyson Fury and rising star Gervonta Davis..

The former two-time heavyweight champion earned $75m from fights in 2024 alone, placing him second only to Canelo Alvarez in yearly earnings. The Mexican champion matched Joshua’s fight purse but edged him in off-field earnings by $2m.

Fury, 36, collected $50m in 2024, taking his career earnings to $150m, significantly behind Joshua’s impressive haul.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced Saturday he and John Gotti III agreed to a rematch on Aug. 24 in Mexico City.

The pair previously fought in June 2023. The exhibition was ended in the sixth round. Gotti continued to throw punches at Mayweather after the stoppage, which sparked a wider brawl in and out of the ring.

Gotti, who’s the grandson of the late New York mob boss John Gotti, told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour shortly after the event he was open to a return encounter. He said Mayweather might have a hard time turning down the idea based on how much attention they generated from their post-fight melee.

Mayweather previously announced the two would square off during the week of Super Bowl LVIII. However, that came to nothing.

Floyd Mayweather Jr’s latest exhibition fight ends in mass brawl after ‘early stoppage’

The 47-year-old has maintained his retirement from boxing after beating UFC star Conor McGregor in 2017 and running his record to a perfect 50-0. Since then, he has scheduled a series of exhibitions, making no bones about the fact he’s getting paid handsomely for much less work than would be required in an official fight.

Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois both might pack a punch, but they don’t hit as hard as David Price.

That is, at least, according to British heavyweight boxer Frazer Clarke, who has been in the ring with all three men. Joshua and Dubois are set to go head to head for the IBF heavyweight title on September 21 after undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk was forcibly stripped of the belt.

Speaking on the Toe2Toe podcast, Andy Scott, Andy Clarke and Dan Azeez analysed Joshua vs Dubois

The bout pits two of the heaviest hitters in boxing against one another. But judging by Clarke’s recent comments, neither man can hold a candle to Price, who retired back in 2021.

It’s a different kind of punch but I think that on a single shot probably Joshua just [punches harder than Dubois],” Clarke, 32, told Boxing Social. “Joshua comes with a bit more speed than Dubois so they come sharp, Dubois is a real thud.

Everything is ready for the fight at the Barclays Center in New York, where Ryan García will seek to defeat the World Boxing Council (WBC) super lightweight champion Devin Haney.

His only defeat came in his penultimate fight against Gervonta Davis, where he was technically knocked out in the seventh round in April 2023. After that loss, the Mexican-American returned to the ring in December and defeated Oscar Duarte by knockout.
