The Impractical Jokers’ Joe Gatto has joked he will be fighting Iron Mike Tyson months after his defeat to Jake Paul, as he announces a new fitness television show and returns to home entertainment screens for the first time since 2022.

The 48-year-old Gatto, who starred in the TruTV (and later TBS) show from 2011-2020, jested he managed to book the ex-undisputed heavyweight champion for a bout in 2025 and included a mock poster of them promoting the fictional scrap.

But it’s all a ruse for a marketing ploy as he actually wanted to catch some attention to promote his upcoming show dedicated to health and fitness, where he insists he will push his body to the limit.

“Exciting news,” Gatto posted to X.com, formerly Twitter. “In 2025 I will enter the ring with the legendary @MikeTyson. Training starts 1/1/25 and you can watch it all on @hulu.

Tragedy has struck the world of boxing and sport in general as world champion Paul Bamba has died at the age of 35. Just days after his triumph in winning the WBA Gold cruiserweight world title, Bamba has left a void in the hearts of many fans and fellow professionals.

Paul Bamba had a remarkable year, culminating in his record-breaking performance in which he surpassed Mike Tyson’s record of 14 KOs in 2024. His prowess in the ring and relentless drive earned him the respect and admiration of the global boxing community.

The news of Bamba’s death has shaken the sporting world, which has been flooded with messages of condolence and tribute. Among them was his manager and close friend, the famous singer Ne-Yo, who shared an emotional statement lamenting the boxer’s loss.

Mike Tyson has candidly shared his feelings of being “kind of depressed” after his lucrative clash with Jake Paul, despite walking away $20million richer. The boxing legend failed to come out on top in their recent fight, which was decided in eight rounds with the judges scoring it 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 unanimously in Paul’s favour.

While the defeat was a tough one to swallow, the hefty payday was a silver lining for Tyson, who discussed the emotional lows following the high-stakes match in a chat with Steve Covino and Rich Davis on the FOX Sports Radio YouTube channel earlier this month.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul: What is Jake Paul's boxing record?

The 58-year-old sports icon reflected on his post-fight mood and the adjustment back to everyday life, saying: “That fight was such a big ascent-we were so up and high, we were so excited. The fight’s over, boom. Wow, I’m kind of depressed a little bit. We got to get back [into] our living situation [daily life], back to living. [We were] training for it 9 months.”

The highly anticipated fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, held on November 15, became one of the most talked-about events of the past year. While the bout shattered viewership records on Netflix, USA TODAY Sports revealed that it fell short of expectations in terms of attendance.

According to documents obtained by the outlet, a tax report submitted by fight promoter Holden Boxing LLC showed that 59,666 tickets were sold, with an additional 6,437 distributed as complimentary, for a total of 66,103 tickets.

These numbers starkly contrasted with Paul’s ambitious prediction of 90,000 spectators at AT&T Stadium. Achieving that figure would have required selling 10,000 standing-room-only seats at the 80,000-seat venue, home to the Dallas Cowboys.

Despite falling short of the projected crowd, the fight generated $18.1 million in ticket revenue, the highest ever for a U.S. boxing event outside of Nevada. The total revenue subject to state taxes reached $22 million, including $3.6 million attributed to complimentary tickets.

Mike Tyson escaped a tough upbringing in New York to become one of the richest athletes of his generation – but he still lost every penny of his fortune by the age of 37.

‘Iron Mike’ was a sensation in the 1980s and 1990s, going undefeated in his first 37 bouts and cleaning opponents out with his fearsome power. Tyson’s brazen personality and deadly trash talking only heightened his fame, with eyes drawn to his fights from around the world.

Mike Tyson: Biography, Boxer, Heavyweight Champion, Ex-Criminal

By 2003, when his professional career was winding down, Tyson had reportedly racked up an astonishing fortune of around £313million. But that was also the year every penny of it went down the drain after a string of ludicrous purchases.

Tyson filed for bankruptcy in £18m worth of debt and with around £10.5m owed in taxes, which begs the question: How did he spend so much, so quickly

Page spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard, who asked if there was anything from Page’s career that he wished fans talked about more. Page, a former NXT Champion, said he doesn’t have anything that comes to mind for a good reason.

“No,” Page stated. “And I’ll say that because the less people have seen, the more I can draw from past experiences or past. I can link it to like a standup comedian traveling around trying to perfect your act. If they’ve already heard the jokes, they’re not as funny when they hear them. So, I’m hoping not everyone has heard all my jokes. I can bust out a couple of jokes in NXT that I have been able to perfect over the years.”

Mike Tyson to Join Fighters Who Have Fought Beyond Their Peak

Page said it’s not that he doesn’t care about what people think or say, but highlighted a recent interview with Mike Tyson for putting things in perspective. Tyson appeared on the Jazzy’s World podcast and said he doesn’t really believe in legacy and feels it’s more about ego.

“It means absolutely nothing to me. I’m just passing through,” Tyson told Jazzy. “I’m going to die and then it’s going to be over. Who cares about legacy after that?”

A heavyweight boxing behemoth who Alex Pereira previously sparred faced a surging contender on the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury 2 undercard on Saturday. In mere minutes, Pereira’s former sparring foe suffered defeat at the hands of teenage phenom Moses Itauma.

Demsey McKean, who Pereira sparred with earlier this year, got finished by Itauma in the leadup to the Fury vs. Usyk heavyweight main event rematch. In the first round of the fight, Itauma landed a massive overhand left that sent McKean collapsing in the ring, twisting and turning 180 degrees as a result of a single punch.

The 19-year-old Itauma is one of heavyweight boxing’s rising stars and has been compared to Boxing Hall of Famer Mike Tyson. The win over McKean moved him to 11-0 in his professional boxing career with nine wins by knockout.

Just months ago, Pereira and McKean met in the ring via a sparring session leading up to Pereira’s UFC 307 return. The two sides traded blows in sparring footage you can watch below, although the tactics and experience of McKean were enough to keep the always-dangerous Pereira out of range.

Mike Tyson has pulled the curtain on his divisive fight against Jake Paul.

Last month, Paul – or perhaps Father Time – decisively bested Tyson in front of a crowd of 70,000 at AT&T Stadium. Despite both combatants vowing that the highly-anticipated faceoff wouldn’t go the distance, the bout ended up spanning all eight, two-minute rounds – with all three judges ruling in favor of the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

After spending the better part of two decades away from the boxing ring, Tyson looked to be a shell of his former self upon returning to the stage where he dominated for so many years. The 58-year-old looked every bit his age versus Paul, 27, only managing to connect on 18 of his 97 punches thrown (18 percent).

In the leadup to the lucrative fight – which became the most streamed global sporting event in history after Netflix raked in 108 million viewers – many fans expressed concern for Tyson’s health. The ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ did little to ease these concerns following the bout, conceding that he suffered a major health scare prior and blacked out on fight night.

Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali and Floyd Mayweather are three of the biggest names in boxing history.

Tyson is the youngest world heavyweight champion in history, becoming the number one attraction in the sport throughout the 80s and 90s.

Ali transcended the sport in the same way in the 60s and 70s, being involved in some of the biggest fights of all time including the ‘Rumble In The Jungle’ and the ‘Thrilla In Manila.’

Mayweather then took that baton as the face of boxing in the 2000s and 2010s, becoming the box office king before retiring with a perfect 50-0 undefeated record in 2017.

It was those accolades that led Mayweather to claim that he is the best boxer of all time, telling ESPN that he is better than Ali was.

Tyson Fury has been sparring with a young boxer dubbed the ‘British Mike Tyson’ ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

The Gypsy King suffered the first defeat of his professional boxing career to Usyk in May, losing out on the title of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world to the Ukrainian via split decision. He is readying himself for revenge against the undefeated Usyk on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Fury, 36, is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation for the sequel fight, drafting in six sparring partners of a similar height and build to Usyk in order to recreate his unique style. One of those is teenage boxing star and southpaw Moses Itauma.

Born in Slovakia to a Nigerian father before moving to England, Itauma has been labelled ‘Britain’s Mike Tyson’ by the British press, thanks to his all-action approach to fighting. The 19-year-old is seen in the boxing community as a potential future world champion – and even Fury has conceded that he won’t want to face him in a serious contest.
