Tyson Fury has revealed he has not had any contact with his wife of 16 years in the last three months as he prepares for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk this weekend.

Fury is set to face Usyk for the second time in seven months on Saturday night after losing to the Ukrainian on points in their first fight in May.

And there can be little doubt as to how seriously Fury is taking the fight as he plots his revenge.

Speaking about his training camp, Fury told TNT Sports presenter Dev Sahni: ‘It’s been a long camp. Been away from my wife and kids for three months, I’ve not spoken to Paris at all for three months, not one word. Yeah, I’ve sacrificed a lot.’

Sahni responded that it would all be worth it if Fury wins the rematch, to which Fury replied: ‘It will be worth it, 100 per cent.’

Fury has been married to his wife, Paris, since 2008. The couple have seven children together, and she is often at ringside for his fights.

Tyson Fury has been sparring with a young boxer dubbed the ‘British Mike Tyson’ ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

The Gypsy King suffered the first defeat of his professional boxing career to Usyk in May, losing out on the title of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world to the Ukrainian via split decision. He is readying himself for revenge against the undefeated Usyk on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Fury, 36, is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation for the sequel fight, drafting in six sparring partners of a similar height and build to Usyk in order to recreate his unique style. One of those is teenage boxing star and southpaw Moses Itauma.

Born in Slovakia to a Nigerian father before moving to England, Itauma has been labelled ‘Britain’s Mike Tyson’ by the British press, thanks to his all-action approach to fighting. The 19-year-old is seen in the boxing community as a potential future world champion – and even Fury has conceded that he won’t want to face him in a serious contest.

The fight was initially proposed to take place on February 17 but the bout was pushed back after Fury suffered a cut in one of his final sparring sessions.

After a short break, Fury is now back in the gym preparing for the four-belt shootout and recently released some training footage on social media.Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk confirm undisputed heavyweight world championship title fight will be next | Boxing News | Sky Sports

‘The Gypsy King’ uploaded a clip of him being put through his paces in a gruelling conditioning session that included sledge pushes and jump squats.

Fury certainly looked like he was pushing himself but fans were less than impressed by what they were watching.

Tyson Fury has said Francis Ngannou should be grateful for the opportunity in which he finds himself ahead of Friday’s fight with Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia.

MMA fighters and boxers, as a rule, do not historically cross over into one another’s realms with great success.

Ngannou broke that generalization with a valiant and impressive performance against Fury in October, dropping the WBC heavyweight champion with a knockdown that shocked both sporting fraternities.

Fury eventually clawed himself back into the fight and squeaked past Ngannou with a narrow split decision.

Initial plans for Friday were for former unified heavyweight champion Joshua to take on longtime rival Deontay Wilder. Such plans were scuttled by Joseph Parker, who bullied, outfought and outboxed Wilder on Dec. 23. Wilder and Parker shared the billing with Joshua, who forced Otto Wallin to be withdrawn by his corner after five rounds.

Fury, speaking to “The Stomping Ground,” said Ngannou should be grateful to him for improving his finances and finding himself in a position to generate more money against Joshua.

Tyson Fury foresees a knockout whenever he fights Oleksandr Usyk. He envisions the Ukrainian champion lying on the canvas, seven rounds into the fight. Can it turn into a reality? The British champion surely thinks so

The Gyspsy King’ will battle it out against Usyk with all the heavyweight straps on the line. While their electrifying showdown is derailed for May in Saudi Arabia, the anticipation of the bout is reaching a zenith. Amid the speculations and doubts about Fury’s fading boxing prowess, the latter is confident of pulling another win, and that too, splendidly. What prompted him to make such a claim?

Fury, 35, sat down with Charlie Parsons and had a candid response when asked about his prediction for the upcoming fight. Not only did Usyk have a little experience at heavyweight, but he also hadn’t impressed Fury with his outings to the square circle. Fury said, “He’s only had two or three fights at heavyweight. And to be honest, I haven’t been that impressed with him.”

He [Oleksandr Usyk] does what he’s got to do; he has got his wins, been paid. He gets the job done, and he goes home. So that’s what it is about,” Fury continued.

Prior to Anthony Joshua‘s fight with Otto Wallin in December, it was not exactly clear which direction the Brit’s career was heading.

In his previous four fights, Joshua had worked with three different trainers, and not looked entirely convincing with any of them in his corner.

Joshua’s long-term coach Rob McCracken was dumped after his first loss to Oleksandr Usyk, and Robert Garcia couldn’t change the result in the rematch. In came another American, Derrick James, but Joshua still only laboured to wins over fringe contenders Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius.

When the two-time heavyweight champion announced he would be trying another trainer to take on Wallin, it appeared he was lacking clarity on how he wanted to go about his business.

But Joshua proved the doubters wrong. With the highly-rated Ben Davison in his corner, AJ looked back to his brutal best as he broke down his opponent and forced the Swede’s corner to throw in the towel after five rounds.

Joshua however points out that even though bouts with those opponents never came to fruition, for his part he has previously agreed to fight both men.

Talks for a fight with Tyson Fury have stalled and collapsed in the past, while Joshua had inked a deal to fight Wilder this year, only for the American to suffer a surprise upset loss to Joseph Parker and nix the arrangement.

Tyson Fury may have been fooled by Francis Ngannou before their boxing match. In October, the 37-year-old swapped the UFC cage for the boxing ring when he made his debut against none other than the WBC Heavyweight champion.

The Cameroon fighter exceeded expectations and pushed ‘The Gypsy King’ to his limi, even knocking him to the canvas in the third round. He was incredibly competitive throughout the 10-round encounter and only beaten via split decision, which some fans felt was the wrong call.

It is possible Fury and his team went into the fight not expecting much from Ngannou, if his workout posted to social media was anything to go by. Footage emerged of the former UFC Heavyweight Champion getting some reps in on the pads with new coach Mike Tyson watching on.

He looked somewhat lacklustre and some of boxing’s biggest names voiced their displeasure with Ngannou’s display. Former super-middleweight champion Carl Froch added: “Fury’s not going to be worried about getting hit by that monstrous punch, because I’ve seen Ngannou on the pads and he looks terrible.

A heavyweight champion in the UFC, Ngannou made his professional boxing debut in a non-title bout against Tyson Fury, the reigning WBC champion.
